John Wilson has the exciting job of acting in the first and final pieces of Motel 666. A long-time horror fan, he shares some unique fears with us today.
Do you consider yourself a horror fan? What is your favorite genre of horror?
I am a huge horror fan, have been for years. I was deeply affected by the horror movies from the 70s and 80s.
What was the first time you encountered horror in entertainment? Was it a book, a movie, a play or something else?
I stayed up late when I was young once and saw The Shinning way past my bed time. It felt like I was on a roller coaster, been hooked to the feeling of fear ever since.
Does acting in a horror piece present any unique challenges or opportunities? Have you done any horror theatre before, or is this your first time? What is your favorite part about being in a horror piece?
My favorite part by far is the audience reaction to a truly deep scare, also the laughter that usually follows.
How have motels played a role in your life?
If you could take on any role in any horror tale what would it be?
A updated version of The Creature of The Black Lagoon.
What is the one thing that scares you the most?
Needles and Pine Nuts…in that order.
