Our costume designer Raquel had the exciting task of costuming 11 actors who are playing 24 roles in 7 plays in set in 7 different decades,  and to ensure that the costumes not only tie into a central theme, but are also blood and demon-goo resistant. And you thought your job was hard…

Do you consider yourself a horror fan? What is your favorite genre of horror?
Definitely a tie between psychological and paranormal.

What was the first time you encountered horror in entertainment? Was it a book, a movie, a play or something else?
Stephen King books as a kid and then the classics like ROSEMARY’S BABY and PSYCHO.

Does designing for a horror piece present any unique challenges or opportunities? Have you done any horror theatre before, or is this your first time? What is your favorite part about designing for a horror piece?
I’ve done shows with gore, but this is my first horror show!!!! I’m pretty excited. BLOOD of course is the biggest challenge on my mind, and all the storytelling that needs to happen visually. All the details I can cram into costume to give the audience information about time and place. Shows with intense action tend to be enhanced greatly from those visual gestures.

How have motels played a role in your life?
Not much! I tend to use my Hilton Points whenever possible!!!!

What “impossible” design challenge would you like to tackle in a horror play?
A severed something. That is no easy feat.

What is the one thing that scares you the most?
Being stalked and snuck up on!!!! Ahhhh!!!!
